Toni Braxton Cast Mo'Nique For New Album

Toni Braxton has enlisted some of entertainment’s biggest stars for her new album including Trey Songz, Robin Thicke, and Usher, and now she’s rounding out the prestigious list with an Oscar nominee.

Comedian-turned-actress Mo’Nique, who is up for an Academy Award for her role in Precious, makes a cameo on Braxton’s sixth studio album. “She does a monologue on one of my songs,” the R&B diva exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. The track was inspired by Oran “Juice” Jones’ 1986 hit “The Rain.”

“It’s about this relationship where this guy finds out his girl is cheating on him. We do a song, it doesn’t sound anything like that, but it’s the reverse of a guy who gets busted cheating. [Mo'Nique] does this whole monologue and it’s really funny and comedic.”

The Grammy winner reached out to the Golden Globe winner, who happily obliged. “She said, ‘Oh my God, I’d love to do it.’ I’ve always been a fan of hers and we’re both from Maryland. I love her.”

The winning combination can be heard on Pulse, due May 4. Until then, the “Un-Break My Heart” singer is rooting for her friend at next month’s Oscar ceremony. “We’re great friends, she’s really cool. I’m really excited for her about her Oscar.”

Toni Braxton Out For Fashion Week In NYC!

Toni Braxton was spotted in NYC for Fashion Week! Fashionistas and models hung out with rock queen Gwen Stefani to help her celebrate her new L.A.M.B.collection at fashion week last night. Music Legend Toni Braxton joined the party, and she really rocks this gold ensemble and short hairdo, don't you think?

Toni joined Kelly Osbourne, Josh Hartnett, Jared Leto and other stars at Surf Lodge and Milk Studios in New York City. The stars sipped on Belvedere cocktails, including the Endless Summer, Citrus Kiss and Pear Crisp varieties. Later on in the evening at the downstairs gallery’s LnA party, 650 partygoers jammed to a live performance by Patti Smith.

Other celebrities on hand to celebrate Gwen's collection included Zoe Kravitz, Kelley Bensimon and her chef-boyfriend Sam Talbot.

After releasing her new album Pulse on May 4, Toni Braxton will star in her own reality show with her mother and sisters called “Braxton Family Values,” premiering this fall on Bravo. Rap-Up.com caught up with the R&B star to find out what she has in store and her favorite celebreality stars.

What can we expect from the show?
I don’t think people have any idea what they’re about to see. They have no idea. I’m Miss Congeniality. That’s all I can say. My family’s very animated and it’ll be entertaining.

Will there be lots of drama?
There will be some personal things about everyone. My mom and my sister Tamar will probably be the drama.

Will your two sons be part of it?
Not really, no. I have a special-needs son and I like to be able to control that with him, and I don’t want to exploit him in any kind of way. They might catch them if they’re passing through trying to get something. “Mom, where’s my iPod?” It’s not something where I’m trying to showcase them.

Toni also chatted with Rap-Up.com about her forthcoming album 'Pulse' and collaborating with R&B singer Usher.

The star of the upcoming reality show “Braxton Family Values” is planning a collaboration with Usher for her Atlantic Records debut Pulse. “I think me and Usher are gonna do something together,” she exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. “Usher’s great. He’s like my brother in the business. Love, love, love him! We’re both represented by AEG [Live CEO] Randy Phillips, so Randy’s gonna definitely make it happen.”
