Toni Braxton Sets The Date For Reality Series

Toni Braxton and family submit themselves to the glare of the reality show spotlight this year with Braxton Family Values, set to air on Women’s Entertainment channel WE tv in April 2011.

The show will follow the multiple Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter and her four sisters – aspiring singers Traci, Towanda, Trina and Tamar – as they also pursue careers in show business.

Known for her distinctive contralto vocal range, Toni released her sixth studio album Pulse via Atlantic Records in Spring 2010; her fifth US top-ten album, spawning the singles “Yesterday” [featuring Trey Songz], “Make My Heart” and “Hands Tied.”

Later that year the R&B singer filed for bankruptcy for a second time, having previously done so in 1998.

Braxton Family Values is just one of many family-oriented shows planned for WE tv; the network’s president and general manager Kim Martin recently revealed the channel’s goal “to put on families that are big personalities, who are interesting, entertaining, full of drama and conflict and you can’t wait to tune in next week.”

“Our goal is not to look at family viewing,” Martin said. “Our goal is to show families, because women define themselves by the relationships in their lives.”
